Ferentino's food was so comforting, it made me fall asleep right on my boyfriend's couch last night almost immediately following dinner. This is why he calls me a party pooper. I blame rigatoni w/ vodka sauce. So, we ordered delivery last night, and the food came quickly and was hot hot hot. The rigatoni was a little past al dente for my Italian self, and the sauce was a little acidic, not the vodka sauce I'm used to. Not bad, just... different. Cheesy garlic focaccia, two thumbs up. Antipasto salad, AOK. The BF got the italian sub, which looked great. So, at the end of the meal, my belly was full and warm, and I immediately snuggled off to dreamland. Not too shabby.

My husband and I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza, a large, which worked out to be about $18. It was big! There was a decent amount of bacon on it, would have liked a little more chicken, but I typically do not like pizza and I liked this! I'd give a 3.5 if I could, but it was definitely better than a 3, so 4 it is! Good service too. We would definitely go back again!

We get the food delivered for lunch at my office. The Antipasta salad is so good, I actually crave it. Pizza is good, and the sandwiches are huge. VERY reasonably priced and delivery is fast. The person who takes the order over the phone is really good and we have never had a mistake. I really like this place.

This is a hole in the wall pizza place in a fancy strip mall. There are some benches and a narrow counter inside, but they obviously mostly do takeout - I ordered a panino and it was handed to me in a clamshell inside a stapled-shut brown bag. They have a huge menu - 6 or 7 different types of salads, including at least three vegetarian options, pasta, pizza (multiple types of crust), sub sandwiches and "paninos". The paninos are not baked in a panini press and are larger than I expected. They claim the focaccia is homemade and it is pretty good. The bottom was buttery so I think they put it on a grill to melt the cheese. I got the "vegie"; there's also a mozzarelle available, which looks like a caprese salad on the focaccia. There were lots of vegetables, including onions, green pepper, mushrooms, tomato, and some nice fresh spinach. Very generous sandwich for $6.98 (includes pickle; no napkins). I ate about half and saved the rest for later. It took a while to make but was worth it. Beverages include San Pellegrino water and San Pellegrino orangeade and lemonade in addition to the usual soda and water.

Uh, yeah, this stuff is good. Let's make this review short and sweet: One of (if not) the best Italian "paninO" you'll ever find. Ever! The pizza. Yep, this is very good too. Friendly employees (and owner), reasonable prices, and damn good food, will get me back in.

Fantastic thin and deep dish pizza. Their pepperoni and spinach are delicious.

My short and sweet review: I love Ferentino's. The deep dish spinach is incredible, as is the thin crust cheese. The prices are reasonable and the sauce and crust are fantastic. You can only get pizza by the slice from 11-4, so be aware. Ordering a deep dish can take upwards of an hour. THE SCOOP: One of the best deep dish slices in the North Shore. Don't miss it.

My favorite pizza on the North Shore. Having grown up in the suburbs of Chicago, I am a pizza nut. I have tried pizza from all over the world, and still love Chicago's the best. Ferentino's has the best thin crust on the North Shore by far. Their sausage pizza is especially recommended. As far as deep dish goes, I'd go across the street to Lou's, personally. But for thin crust, look no further...this is the pizza you want.

My favorite thin crust pizza in the Chicagoland area. Extremely fresh ingredients, wide selection of toppings, filling, and reasonably priced for the quality...though it's certainly more than ordering from a large chain (Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's and slightly more than Lou's, Giordano's or Gino's). Great panino, pasta and salad selection as well, but my personal go-to is always the thin crust pizza. The only reason I don't give this place a 5 star is because, in my opinion, the service is pretty poor and the owner tends to be snappy. All in all, a great pizza place to check out if you're in the area.

It is not up there with the top tier pizza spots, but they have decent pizza. It helps that I only get this while at work and it is usually free. We made a huge order for 11am on a day where it was snowing and they were right on time. The only problem was that the one thing that was not right was my pizza. It was almost as if they had transported it at a 45° angle. It tasted fine, but it was a little disappointing. They have pretty good paninos too, with dipping sauce and everything.

Good thin pizza for this neck of the woods, crispy, good choice of toppings, on the greasy side but good.

This place is great! My family goes here all the time and we really love it. They have a great menu and the food is always wonderful. Their staple is pizza but the salads, subs, and paninis are worth ordering as well. It might not be a "high-end" / "gourmet" pizza / sub store, however the food is always fresh and tastes great and it's all very reasonably priced. For a pizza place in Lake Forest it is very unpretentious and its not hard to see why its everyone's favorite local pizza place. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant has a casual atmosphere, but it is very clean and well maintained. Definitely one of our favorite lunch / dinner spots.

Excellent pizza, my favorite-thin crust comes with a nice chew & crispiness, sauce & topping (sausage & pepperoni) have good flavor. One of my weekly go-to sites for pizza home delivery.

Best pizzeria in Northern Chicago. The staff is super friendly, the food is fantastic and fairly priced, the dining area is nice and parking is a non issue. We recently moved from the area, but we miss this place every time we order pizza. This place is the best!

My son wants to review this place. The pizza is really good because it's crispy crunchy hot out of the oven like momma makes it. The seating is limited inside, but really clean. Outside they have 6 tables which are also clean. The worker guy was attentive and so polite. I'd come back here again. Two thumbs up.

This local pizza and Italian food restaurant never disappoints. We have been ordering carry out from them for years. The east Lake Forest location is closest to our house. Ferentino's seems to use only the highest quality ingredients and the recipes are tasty. Orders are usually ready in 25 minutes or less. Since going gluten-free about a year ago, my choices have been reduced at this great restaurant but I still look forward to ordering every time. My current favorite is the Greek salad. It's always perfectly fresh crispy cold and delicious. Generous amounts of feta cheese and Kalamata olives. The gluten-free pizza is really good. My family also enjoys the penne with vodka sauce and both versions of the veggie sub. One sub is called a provolone sub. It is simple, with lettuce onion, tomato, provolone cheese, and amazing Italian dressing. The other is actually called a veggie sub loaded with spinach, mushrooms, green peppers, etc. The sandwiches are always toasted to perfection. The Italian bread is amazing. If you live on the North Shore and have never tried Ferentino's in Lake Forest you are in for a consistently solid treat.

The service was polite, pizza was quicker then expected ordering a deep dish. Got a Italian beef, chicken, spinach and it was out of this world. The dough was thick and tasty. The marinara/pizza sauce tastes fresh and succulent. The cheese and filling was to die for. I liked how the beef and chicken were shaved. Surprisingly a great filling pizza as me and the gf only consumed two slices each. Keep it up

Our company orders from them. The quality of the food is good. I usually get their pollo chop chop salad. It's filled with toppings. It makes Donati's similar salad looks like crap. Their sandwiches are Delish as well. Def recommend this place for a quick bite if you're around the area.

Good pizza, HORRIBLE service. The online menu has not been updated apparently, so beware before you order and make sure to get a total before hanging up. The employee did not make it a point to tell me the total before hanging up and I ended up paying $30 for a pizza instead of the $15 I was expecting to pay. I called in to get some clarification and all I got was "yes, I've told the owners to update the site but they haven't so...." I'm a grad student who can't afford to pay randomly made-up, absurdly steep prices for pizza. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future if Ferentino's doesn't get their act together.

I'm very picky about pizza and Ferentino's pizza is pretty good. I absolutly hate how you cannot order a slice after a certain time. They offer the 'personal pizza' if you bring this up so I got one with veggies which ended up costing me almost $10 before getting a drink! I was looking to spend maybe $5 on dinner. They have a cheap garlic cheesy bread option that comes with marinara dipping sauce that is $3.50 and definitely more my style. Food can take a long time to make depending on how busy it is, plan for 10-30 minutes wait time.

Usually I love going to Ferentinos for lunch and dinner. The deep dish pizza here is a great price and is one of the best around the north shore. Unfortunately, the service is sub-par. I have ordered many times from Ferentinos and have paid an extra $2.00 for a bunch of hot peppers/giardiniera. It isn't until my pizza is delivered, or I get home that I realize ZERO hot peppers have been included, however I have already paid for them. This has actually happened one two separate occasions. My next complaint with this business is that they forget about the take out customers. One time I ordered a pizza and was told to pick it up in a half hour. Sure enough I came to pick up the pie a half hour later and I paid the due balance. They said my pizza would be right up. I waited for about 15 minutes before saying something again - (which I had to ring a bell for an employee to come out). Once I told them I was still waiting for my pizza, the employee went in the back and grabbed it right away. Who knows how long it was sitting there without them bringing it out for me. Lastly, and the main reason I am writing this review is because today I went in to get a slice for lunch. My lunch breaks are only 30 minutes long, but I work only 5 minutes away from the West Lake Forest Ferentinos. So I get to the restaurant and order today at 1:40 (my take out receipt had the time). All I was getting was one slice of pepperoni pizza. I asked specifically if the slices were ready to go for lunch. usually they heat it up and it takes 3-4 minutes to grab the slice and get outta there. Today I was wait for 15 minutes. I was waiting right at the counter too but no employee was there for a good 10-12 minutes. Finally I opened the front door so that the buzzer would ring in the store and an employee would come out. Sure enough he saw me and went to the back then grabbed my slice as if it were just made ready. I was late returning from my lunch break and I am very displeased with the service here at both East and West locations. If you order extras, make sure to check they are included because I have run into issues with this twice in the past. Make sure to stay on top of the employees for your food, because they forget about their customers very quickly. Great food but I really hope somebody of authority sees this post and takes the criticism seriously.

This is my favorite pizza state-side. I used to live in a northern suburb of Chicago with a Ferentino's about 15 minutes away. Chicago has a lot of good food and this is one of my favorite's in the whole city (which is really saying something). Chicago is known for its deep-dish pizza, but I would recommend getting the thin-crust pizza here. At a lot of pizza places, the cheese and sauce is good, but the crust isn't. Or the crust is delicious and the cheese is cheap. At Ferentino's, the cheese, sauce, and crust are all excellent! The price is also surprisingly good for this level of quality. Takeout is my preferred option purely for convenience. Takeout is usually as good as in-store orders because the delivery is quick and they use heat-reflective delivery bags. Highly recommend!

Was very surprised of the quality of the meatball sandwich - Amazing and so delicious. Definitely recommend ordering and trying! Packed with so much flavor and the meatballs are quite big and juicy

$5 lunch specials. OK! The pollo chop chop salad is my favorite salad of all time!! It's unreal. The bacon, chicken, pasta elbows, raspberry vinaigrette dressing......oh no, it's only 9:50 and I want this salad NOW! I get this for lunch like 3 days out of the week..don't judge me.

My boss and I stopped by Ferentino's last week for a quick lunch before hopping on the nearby Metra. We were desperate to have something other than Jimmy John's or McDonald's, and we were happy to stumble into this joint. I stared wide-eyed at the menu and blurted out BBQ chicken panino, and I really had no idea what I had ordered. I was pretty happy with the result. It's a sandwich on a toasted round foccacia roll, cut into quarter wedges. It was sort of like a salad on a sandwich, as the chicken chunks mixed with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and it also came with a pickle and a cup of vinaigrette. The BBQ sauce was kind of blah though. My boss liked his Italian beef, though he probably thought he was at Billy Goat's when he was told they had no fries (just bags of chips) and no ice for an iced tea. Fortunately my can of Coke was sufficiently cold. The interior has only a few seats, but points for them showing an English Premier League match on the TV! We ate outside on a brilliant and sunny afternoon, enjoying our view of the strip mall parking lot, and tried not to spill anything onto our pants through the metallic grill of the picnic table. Well, the food was pretty good.

Well even though the pizza is relatively delicious and moderately priced, I have to give this place a bad rating. Customer service was terrible! Maybe it was bc one person was taking orders and on the phone etc, however I think that pizza by the slice should be rather quick. I waited over 20mins, while everyone behind me received their food first. Wtf? I don't know maybe I will give them another try, just be ready to wait when you walk in!

Looking for GOOD pizza? Here you go. No, it's not the absolute best that Chicago has to offer, but it's reasonably priced (mostly) and consistently good. Do yourself a favor and try out their Roma crust. Wow. And the deep dish is just as tasty. The crust is crispy and the sauce has just the right amount of tomato sweetness.
